Drip Tip

Idea: To replace original felt tip of graffiti marker with Mechanical tip for better control

Early sketches of the mechanism

First model and prints for shape and fitting

Second model with two connecting parts.Tried to put a coil in after printing but top part of cap was tip short

Modeling coil test and print. Failed because print quality was too low

First three part print. Added hexagon shaped inside in second part for better inflow.
Unfortunately print quality was too low for the mechanism to work.

First fully functional tip

After getting to my final working model I had one more idea that I wanted to try out. To put a thin piece of rubber in the tip so when the marker is squeezed, ink would go into the tip without being able to flow back into the marker. The idea was that pressure would build up and when pressed against a surface, ink would splatter out of the tip.

Unfortunately this did not work and ink got out of the sided of the tip before pressure could build up inside.
